Player Code of Conduct - Netball

Player Code of Conduct

1. I will not miss any training sessions or games without notifying my coach with an appropriate reason. Notice must be given at least 24 hours prior to the game/session, unless severely ill in which case, notice must be given at the earliest possible time.

2. I will endeavour to attend all club functions to support the club.

3. I will pay all player fees and expenses in a timely manner and always act lawfully at the club. Failure to do so may mean expulsion from playing football or netball for the Carngham Linton FNC.

4. I will not engage in practices involving alcohol or illegal drug use that affect sporting performance. I will comply with club ‘Good Sports’ Illegal Drug, Alcohol Management and Smoke Free Policies.

5. I will not consume excessive amounts of alcohol the day/night before a game (i.e. more than 2-3 drinks). If for some reason I am not able to do this (i.e. important function) I will notify my coach in advance and understand this may mean reduced/no game time on the day.

6. I will be responsible for my own fitness, play by the rules and strive to win at all times.

7. I agree to respect Carngham Linton Football Netball Club’s good name and play in a manner that is fair and of good sportsmanship.

8. I will not participate in any bullying behaviour or take unfair advantage of anyone at the club.

9. I will never argue with an umpire or official.

10. I will never verbally or physically abuse committee, officials, volunteers, umpires, spectators or players. Vilification based on race, religion, gender or ability is not acceptable or permitted.

11. I will be a responsible team member, being punctual and encouraging/assisting players at training sessions/matches and cooperating with my coach, officials and teammates.

12. I acknowledge and agree to the procedures for competition related offences and disputes set out by the CHFL/CHNL Competition Regulations.

13. I understand my individual responsibility and the club’s collective commitment to child safety. 

14. I will not engage in inappropriate use of social media as per AFL & Netball Australia policy.

15. I understand that once my game has concluded each week, I must change out of my netball dress within a reasonable time to avoid any damages that my occur as a result. 

16. I will have fun!

17. I acknowledge Carngham Linton Football Netball Club’s affiliation with CHFL/CHNL and agree to abide by the Club and Central Highlands League Codes of Conduct and Australian Football/AFL Victoria/Netball Australia Member Protection Policies.

18. I understand that if I breach any of the above, there will be consequences depending on the severity of the offence. Consequences may range from reduced/no game time on game day, a warning for a breach of code, a requirement to seek counselling, suspension for a set period of time or expulsion from the Carngham Linton Football Netball Club. This will be decided by the coach and/or captains, the designated club marshal, committee, and/or a disciplinary subcommittee
